"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy and unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways of truer answers." M. Scott Peck
Mediation
As a neutral mediator, Cori will assist to negotiate a settlement agreement that meets the needs of all family members.
Collaborative Family Law
Each party retains a specially trained collaborative lawyer (counsellor and/or financial planner if required) and contracts to meet together to negotiate the terms of a settlement agreement without court.
Hear the Child Interviews
Cori obtains the views of young people, between the ages of 8 and 19, on matters that affect them, so their guardians and/or the Court can make sound decisions.
Parenting Coordination
Cori combines education, mediation and arbitration to keep families, who are unable to come to decisions on their own, out of court. By Order or Agreement, Cori will facilitate settlement of minor parenting disputes, such as what school or after school activities the children will attend.
Child Advocacy
Cori can be appointed by the Court to act as a lawyer for a child when the parties to a dispute may not present all of the information and the issue significantly affects the child. Cori will act in the child’s best interests unless the child is mature enough to instruct her directly.
Litigation
Going to court is sometimes the necessary and practical route to resolve a family law problem. The other dispute resolution processes available may also be used to narrow issues or avoid further court proceedings.
Limited Scope Services
Cori offers limited scope services such as document preparation and legal advice and information. Only the scope of the amount of work is limited, not the quality.
